Andrea’s goal is to dedicate her business development and government contracting know-how, administrative expertise, community engagement skills, and entrepreneurial savvy to drive solutions that enable her clients to achieve their missions, improve outcomes, and have optimum impact.
She has extensive experience in business process mapping, human resource management, and real estate project management. Andrea has implemented policies and procedures to ensure best practices for a wide range of services for citizens who reside in the Washington Metropolitan area.
Most recently, Andrea has been managing several projects involving commercial and historical real estate in the DC area. This has involved working with property owners and commercial agents; acquiring DC permits and licenses; and collaborating with contractors to develop public space plans and perform system upgrades. Andrea also led a COVID-19 Public Service Announcement and Outreach campaign in partnership with the Prince George’s County Council and other stakeholders.
Previously, Andrea served as the Executive Administrator for Renaissance Medical Group, Inc., an out-patient health center that offered transformative services to thousands of clients in the DC Metro Area for over two decades. Under her leadership, Renaissance was awarded numerous Federal, State of Maryland, and Prince George’s County contracts. Andrea excelled at contract and regulatory compliance, performance management, and building long-term partnerships with the contracting agencies. As a matter of fact, Renaissance was chosen as the area model program for Federal Audits and Peer Reviews.
Some of the programs’ Andrea/Renaissance piloted include: Maryland Primary Care – Maryland’s visionary program for the uninsured and the precursor of the Maryland Health Exchange of the Affordable Care Act; Community Treatment Services for Federal inmates under “The Revitalization Act;” and HIPAA compliant electronic billing processes with Federal agencies in the DC area.
In addition, Renaissance was the model Community Treatment Provider site visited by the United States Deputy Attorney General during the White House’s 1st Annual Opioid and Prescription Drug Awareness Week.
Andrea led Renaissance’s accreditation with Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) resulting in a gold standard three-year accreditation.
Andrea has also made significant contributions to the human services and non-profit sectors in the DC Metro area. She is a board member of the Yellow Rose Foundation, past Chair of the Maryland Primary Care Providers Advisory Board, and a member of Leadership Prince George’s. Andrea is also a member of The Links, Incorporated, Zonta International, and The Girl Friends, Incorporated.
In addition, Andrea served on the Prince George’s County Executive’s Transition Team as a member of the Health and Human Services, Community-Based Care Subcommittee. She graduated from the Prince George’s County Non-Profit Cohort Advancement Project administered by the Maryland Association of Non-Profits. Andrea is also a LEAD Fellow (Leaders Engaged in Achieving Development) of the Community Foundation for the National Capitol Area. She received a Proclamation from the Maryland General Assembly for her efforts to advance the Minority Business Enterprise community in the State.
Prior to Renaissance, Andrea was the Executive Director of Uplift Medical Enterprises, Inc; a Vocational Development Specialist for the District of Columbia Government; and an Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer of Howard University Hospital.
Andrea received a Bachelor of Science degree at Howard University and a Master of Science degree in Management at University of Maryland Global Campus. She currently resides in Washington, DC where she enjoys spending time with relatives and friends, working on family history initiatives, developing Renaissance public service campaigns, cycling, gardening, traveling, and listening to various genres of music.
